DMB-Digital Multimedia Broadcasting

MI FRIENDS has basically been drawn up in a technologically comprehensive way. The short-term availability of frequencies and a very broad coverage of the DAB-network currently offers an advantage for DMB. Added to that a large number of state-of-the-art receivers has already been available since the commercial start of T-DMB in Korea in December 2005.
 
At a later stage of the project implementation it is intended that also alternative digital broadcasting technologies such as DVB-H are included: the combination of mobile communication technologies like UMTS or GPRS in receivers is being strongly considered. The target of development for a successful penetration of new markets definitely is a convergent infrastructure starting point: a receiver for various standards.
 
MI FRIENDS already uses ready for the market receivers, which are intended to be further developed.
